C.E. Gleeson Construction, Inc. believes that value engineering should be a continuous process throughout a project. So every project is reviewed by a value engineering team that includes the Gleeson project team, project material suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and the best trade subcontractors. The team’s goal is to meet budget goals by providing performance and aesthetics at the level of the original design, by appropriate substitution of lower-cost alternative materials and construction systems.
Value engineering is a method to improve the "value" of the project outcome by examining all aspects of the process through to completion . Value is defined in this instance as the ratio of function/ performance/aesthetics to cost. Therefore, the "value" can be increased by either improving the function/performance/ aesthetics or by reducing the cost. It is important to C.E. Gleeson Constructors, Inc. that the project functions/performance/ aesthetics are preserved while striving to meet budget goals.
